Our program includes relationship building, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), internal motivations, and coping skills, all while enhancing our spirituality.
We guide the individual on how to recognize and change behavior patterns, recognize relapse triggers, and assess and evaluate daily thoughts, actions, and behaviors to permanently encourage positive change, growth, and contribution to themselves, their family, community, and friends.
Education is key! Courses on prevention, the disease process, nutrition & wellness provides a unique and specialized approach to treating the individual suffering from a DIS-EASE and DIS-SATISFACTION that comes from within.
Individual & Family Therapy is a core focus of the AGAPE Wellness method and model.
Group sessions allow for increased accountability and support as old patterns often re-emerge, and the community environment encourages regrowth and a rebuild of the family and social systems. As we continue to monitor the client’s internal motivation through continued assessment and evaluation, we see gaining of more freedom through the reintegration process; the spiritual growth continues
This all-encompassing program also focuses on providing an individualized approach to treatment, working around the schedules of the patients while they work or attend school.
We believe in an integrative approach, which includes addressing the whole person, mind, body, and spirit, which we know is essential for long-lasting wellness and recovery.
Who is a Good Fit for IOP?
Entering an intensive outpatient program is best for those that cannot commit to a residential program, but still, need a high degree of intensity in their treatment plan. Inpatient care can be challenging, intimidating, and very costly, which can all stand in the way of a successful recovery. Residential care can often provide the highest level of care and supervision, but it also requires a commitment that not everyone can give.
For those that need intensive recovery efforts, high levels of care, and commitments outside of treatment that stop them from seeking the treatment they need. The most common reasons that people avoid getting the treatment they need is that they have family, educational, or professional commitments that they need to keep. In situations like these, an intensive outpatient program is often the solution they are looking for. They are able to lean on their existing support networks and comforting home environment as well.
Those who live with others that drink or do drugs will have a difficult time maintaining an effective IOP treatment while maintaining that living arrangement. The ideal home situation is family and friends that love the individual and want them to succeed in their recovery, and want to support them in their new sobriety.
Sober living homes are also a great option for intensive outpatient clients. An intensive outpatient program also may not be a good fit for those with severe addictions or with co-occurring disorders, also called dual diagnosis. Agape Treatment Center offers several substance abuse programs in South Florida to meet individual needs.
Inpatient vs. Outpatient Program: What's the Difference?
Intensive Outpatient Programs are an in-between level of care between inpatient and outpatient programs. Residential programs require patients to stay in treatment all throughout the day and night. This allows for more intensive and around-the-clock guidance and care. However, outpatient programs allow for treatment to take part only during the day – leaving patients to go home at night. Intensive Outpatient Programs are the in-between setting of residential and outpatient programs.
It requires individuals to live at the treatment facility but also allows for more freedom throughout the day. This way, patients can begin to utilize what they learn in treatment within their outside relationships and in the world. IOP schedules may differ from person to person, meaning that treatment sessions may be attended during the morning, day, or even night time hours.
